So erhöht man die Bildqualität der Rift deutlich
Wenn ein Spiel keinerlei Optionen zum Anpassen der Grafikeinstellungen bietet, euer PC aber mehr könnte, dann bleiben euch häufig nur wenige Optionen um die Bildqualität zu verbessern. Eine Möglichkeit liefert Oculus mit dem Debug Tool, denn hier kann man die Pixeldichte des Spiels verändern.
Eigentlich ist das Tool dazu da, um Entwicklern beim Aufspühren von Fehlern zu helfen, doch warum sollte man es nicht auch für eigene Tweaking-Zwecke verwenden. Wenn ihr die Pixeldichte auf 2 erhöht, dann erhaltet ihr ein klareres, aber auch sehr leistungshungrigeres Bild, das mit mit einer Art Anti-Aliasing erzeugt wird.
So müsst ihr vorgehen um das Bild der Oculus Rift zu verbessern:
- Neuste Oculus SDK hier herunterladen und installieren
- Alle laufenden Oculus Home Instanzen und Rift Spiele schließen
- Oculus Home erneut öffnen, bevor etwas anderes gestartet wird
- Nun das Oculus Debug Tool starten, bevor das Spiel gestartet wird
- Setzt die “Pixel Per Display Pixel Override” Option auf einen Wert zwischen 1.0 und 2.0
- Nun das gewünschte Spiel starten und die verbesserte Bildqualität genießen
Es ist wichtig, genau diese Reihenfolge einzuhalten, da es sonst zu Problemen kommen kann. Einen Wert von 2.0 in den “Pixel Per Display Pixel Override” Optionen werden aber auch bei korrekter Durchführung die wenigsten aktuellen Computer bei leistungshungrigen Spielen wie Edge of Nowhere schaffen.
