Nachdem HTC auf der CES 2017 bereits die „Deluxe Audio Strap“ Halterung für die Vive vorgestellt hat, folgt nun eine weitere. Dieses Mal jedoch, von einem Drittanbieter. Der Technikhersteller SynergyWiz aus Florida erreichte jüngst sein Finanzierungsziel von 5.000 US-Dollar auf der Crowdfunding Plattform Kickstarter.
Alle drei der führenden VR Headsets haben ein Problem gemeinsam: Wer die virtuelle Realität für einen Augenblick verlassen will, um mit der realen Welt zu interagieren, muss das Headset absetzen und anschließend wieder neu justieren. Diesem Problem will Synergy Wiz jetzt entgegenwirken.
HTC Vive Halterung rEvolve for Vive sorgt für mehr Tragekomfort
Die neue Halterung für die Vive, welche den Namen „rEvolve for Vive“ trägt, hat die Besonderheit, dass mit ihr das Headset wie ein Visier hochgeklappt werden kann. Dadurch muss die HTC Vive nicht umständlich abgenommen werden und ihr könnt ganz bequem euren PC oder eure Konsole bedienen. Die Halterung soll aber auch für mehr Tragekomfort sorgen.
Denn ähnlich wie bei der PSVR wird der Schwerpunkt des Virtual Reality Headsets auf die Stirn verlagert. Dadurch wird der Druck, der auf das Gesicht ausgeübt wird verringert. So wird ein viel bequemeres Tragen ermöglicht. Wer schon einmal die PlayStation VR ausprobiert hat, weiß, dass dieses Prinzip funktioniert und das Headset dadurch angenehm auf dem Kopf sitzt. Angebracht werden kann die „rEvolve for Vive“ ganz einfach über die Halterung der Vive.
Derzeit befindet sich SynergyWiz in der Designphase. Das auf Kickstarter veröffentlichte Bildmaterial macht aber jetzt schon einen guten Eindruck. Da die HTC Vive recht schwer ist, stellt sich jedoch die Frage, wie Stabil die Konstruktion ist und ob sie im hochgeklappten Zustand auch dem Gewicht des Headsets standhalten kann. Kosten soll das fertige Produkt 85 US-Dollar. Erscheinen soll es bereits im April 2017.
