Wer kennt heute Beat Saber nicht? In aller Jedi-Manier mit Lichtschwertern um sich schlagen und dabei auf euch zufliegende Blöcke passend zur Musik zweiteilen. Der VR-Rhythmustitel war dank seines Gameplays quasi von Anfang an für einen medialen Hype prädestiniert, was sich letztlich auch bewahrheitete. Entsprechend erschienen zahlreiche Videos im Netz, die viral gingen, bevor das Spiel überhaupt erschien. Nach dem Release mauserte sich das Game innerhalb kürzester Zeit zum beliebtesten VR-Titel, um diesen Status aufrecht zu halten, arbeiten die Entwickler/innen bereits an diversen Erweiterungen, wie dem Multiplayer-Modus und der PSVR-Version.
Doch neben dem Hype waren besonders die Community sowie die erschienenen Mods entscheidend an der Aufrechterhaltung des Trends beteiligt. Einen dieser Mods möchte ich euch hier ans Herz legen.
Custom Songs mit Beat Saver
Bestimmt kennen enthusiastische Freunde des VR-Rhythmusspiels Beat Saver bereits, für alle anderen gibt es Anlass zur Freude:
Beat Saver ist ein Mod, der es ermöglicht, eigens erstellte Songs von anderen Nutzern in dein Game einzubinden. Also eine Erweiterung für Beat Saber, denn standardmäßig beinhaltet der Titel noch relativ wenig Lieder. Hier eine kurze Einleitung wie ihr die Lieder in eurer Spiel integriert:
- Geht auf https://github.com/Umbranoxio/BeatSaberModInstaller/releases und ladet euch die “BeatSaberModInstaller.exe”.
- Danach besucht ihr https://beatsaver.com und durchforstet das Archiv, wo ihr euch eure Wunschtitel herunterladen könnt (eine Empfehlung meinerseits findet ihr weiter unten).
- Daraufhin müsst ihr euch zum Beat Saber Installationsverzeichnis navigieren, der Pfad lautet: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Beat Saber” oder ähnlich.
- In dem Ordner müsst ihr den Ordner “CustomSongs” erstellen.
- In den “CustomSongs”-Ordner entpackt ihr nun eure heruntergeladenen Dateien (wichtig: Die Ordner mit den Songnamen müssen hier rein, nicht die mit der Nummerierung!).
- Nun startet ihr die heruntergeladene “BeatSaberModInstaller.exe” und drückt dort auf “Install/Update”
Und ZACK! Schon habt ihr neue Lieder zur Auswahl! Damit ihr euch nicht ewig durch die Seite wühlen müsst, kommen hier nun ein paar meiner persönlichen Favoriten:

- Gangam Style – auch wenn ich mich selbst bislang vor der Imitation des Tanzes gedrückt habe, die Blöcke in der Beat-Saber-Version ließen mich tatsächlich dazu tanzen! (Normal, Hard, Expert)
- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger – auch “Daft Punk“-Fans kommen auf ihre Kosten! (Hard, Expert)
- Numb – Gänsehaut bei diesem Track! Sehr gute Umsetzung vom Klassiker von Linkin Park (Normal, Hard, Expert)
- Sweet Victory – Spongebob-Fans wissen, wovon ich rede. Der süße Sieg in einer wirklich idealen Umsetzung! (Expert)
- Believer – einer der größten Hits der Imagine Dragons mit einer anspruchsvollen, aber gut sitzenden Implementierung! (Expert)
- Brain Power – der für mich wohl härteste Track von allen! Sehr stark umgesetzt, aber bereits die Idee ist wahnwitzig! Wer diesen Song schafft, kriegt einen Gute-Nudel-Stern von mir! (Expert)
- Imperial March – ja, ein auf Star Wars basierter Song in Beat Saber! Auch wenn es sich hier um einen Remix handelt, ist die Umsetzung doch sehr gelungen. Mit einer Laufzeit von über vier Minuten ist er somit ein Top-Workout! (Normal) – erstellt von unserem Community-Mitglied ElRiemo (für Helene Fischer – Atemlos gehörst du immer noch gerügt!)
- Midnight City – Ein sehr atmosphärischer Track, der in seiner Umsetzung wirklich anstrengend werden kann! (Normal, Hard, Expert, Expertplus)
- Hey Ya – Der Song von OutKast zwingt euch zum shaken der Arme, wie ein Polaroid Picture! (Expert)
