Gestern wurde der Deutsche Computerspielpreis 2019 in Berlin vergeben. Auch unser Spiel Tower Tag war in zwei Kategorien nominiert und konnte den Preis für das beste Game-Design nach Hamburg bringen.

Insgesamt setzte sich Tower Tag gegenüber 272 Einreichungen durch und überzeugte die 32-köpfige Jury. Dabei trat unser Titel nicht nur gegen andere Virtual-Reality-Spiele an, sondern zudem gegen Spiele für sämtliche Systeme. Entsprechend freuen wir uns sehr, dass wir zeigen konnten, dass Virtual Reality weiterhin ein spannendes und relevantes Thema bleiben wird. So blicken wir mit Freude auf die kommenden Monate, in denen wir weiteren Content für unseren Lasershooter entwickeln werden.
Dass uns der Award für das beste Game-Design dabei besonders am Herzen liegt, ist seiner Definition geschuldet. Laut Wikipedia umfasst Game-Design, bezogen auf den Gesamtprozess der Spieleentwicklung, alle Teilaufgaben, die für die Schaffung der Spielvision und der Spielwelt erforderlich sind. Hierzu werden, je nach Spiel, erzählende sowie interaktive Elemente miteinander kombiniert.
Je nach Zielgruppe werden außerdem ethische und psychologische Aspekte berücksichtigt und in die Spielplanung mit einbezogen. Auch die Zuarbeit im Hinblick auf Marketing-Aspekte des Produktes zählt oftmals zu den Aufgabenbereichen des Game-Designers.
Tower Tag ist ausschließlich in Virtual-Reality-Arcades spielbar und soll als Erlebnis für eine Gruppe verstanden werden. Entsprechend können im VRHQ in der Hamburger Speicherstadt spannende 3v3-Turniere ausgetragen werden.
Trüberbrook konnte sich den Preis für das beste Spiel aus Deutschland sichern und God of War wurde als bestes internationales Spiel ausgezeichnet.
