Die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug. Gerade konnten wir noch berichten, dass die ersten Daydream Ready Smartphones ab Herbst verfügbar sein werden und am selben Tag dürfen wir bestätigen, dass sich dies am 2. Juni 2016 schon ändern wird. ZTE legt vor und bringt mit dem Axon 7 das erste Daydream Ready Smartphone auf den Markt. Zumindest wenn man in China wohnt, denn zunächst ist die Vermarktung auf den chinesischen Markt beschränkt. Ein Release in Deutschland ist aber laut Connect jedoch sehr wahrscheinlich.
ZTE AXON 7 Smartphone ist VR-Ready

Das ZTE AXON 7 ist das neue Flagschiff von ZTE und wird als Dual-Sim Smartphone ausgeliefert. Es beherbergt einen Snapdragon 820 Prozessor, der mit 2,15 GHz pro Kern taktet. Das Axon wird in einer Variante mit 4 GB RAM und in einer Variante mit 6 GB RAM auf den Markt kommen. Das Display hat eine Größe von 5,5 Zoll und eine Auflösung von 2560 x 1440 Pixel. Das Smartphone kann mit einem Speicher von 64 GB und einem Speicher von 128 GB erworben werden. Diese Varianten sind auch abhängig vom verbauten RAM. Man hat also nur die Wahl zwischen 6 GB RAM und 128 GB Speicher und 64 GB Speicher oder 4 GB RAM und 64 GB Speicher. Dies ist sehr schade, da nicht jeder den größeren Speicher benötigen wird. Der zusätzliche RAM sollte aber für VR-Erfahrungen nötig sein. Beim USB-Anschluss setzt der Hersteller auf den USB-Typ-C Anschluss. Folgende Preise und Varianten wird es also vermutlich in Deutschland im Juni oder Juli geben:
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB Speicher: 575 Euro
- 4 GB RAM + 128 GB Speicher: 469 Euro
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB Speicher: 409 Euro
ZTE AXON 7 Daydream
Das Virtual Reality Headset welches in der Pressemitteilung zu sehen ist erinnert sehr stark an die Samsung Gear VR. Wenn man es nicht besser wüsste, könnte man anfangen direkt das Samsung Logo auf der gezeigten VR-Brille zu suchen. Das Headset mit dem Namen ZTE VR ist nach dem Daydream-Standard entwickelt und bietet ein Field of View von 96 Grad. Dank einem 9-Achsen Gyroskop soll ein akkurates Tracking der Kopfbewegungen möglich sein. Außerdem soll die Verzögerung der Bewegung bei lediglich 18ms liegen.
